Feel like dancing? Well JQ's beats have been known to get feet moving! Jonny has been a DJ for nearly 2 decades and started writing/producing music around the turn of the century. He has played hundreds of events since the 90's - From coast to coast and Canada to Mexico. From smaller, more intimate underground desert parties in the Mojave and Anza-Borrego deserts to massive venues like Root Society at Burning Man, Street Scene SD and some of the biggest and hottest clubs in southern California. During his voyage through the astral plane, JQ has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the most respected names in electronic music - BT, The Crystal Method, Uberzone, Jelo, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Rabbit in the Moon, Frankie Bones, the Moontribe DJ's, Bassnectar, FreQ Nasty and Terry Mullan to name a few....
Production
JQ is half of the musical production duo known as Fiction Machine. Some of their songs have a dubby, downtempo feel and include vocals, guitar, and bass mixed with an electronic flavor. The overall feel is deep and funky. Other tracks are harder, edgier and more dance floor friendly. They have had multiple releases over the years on labels like Nu-logic Records in Florida, and Televisionary Records in Seattle. Fiction Machine has done remixes for artists such as Channel Surfer (Armada Rec.) and Etro Anime (Neurodisc Rec.). See the home page for a sample of their music. JQ also collaborates with other musicians, producers, dj's and singers, and is currently working on a new project with Dave the Organism and Krista Richards from Stone Train. Dave has over 30 years experience as a musician and Krista is an accomplished vocalist that has been featured on many compliations over the years. This list includes cutting tracks with notable artists like house music legends Hippe and Halo, Stone Bridge and breakbeat legend Sharaz, among others.
Photography
This award winning photographer started shooting on Nikon film cameras as a teen. He then went on to study film photography in high school and college. In 2008, after a lengthy break behind the shutter, JQ moved into the digital realm. He can now be found capturing people, events and nightlife on the west coast and beyond. His photographs have been featured in publications like the Las Vegas Weekly, and NBC's "The Feast" and has had the honor of photographing for Los Angeles based performance groups Fire Groove, Zen Arts, Fire 'n Ice, and San Diego based Unifier. In addition, he has been fortunate enough to cover massive events like Electric Daisy Carnival (nearly 200,000 in attendance). JQ combines his photoshop skills with his ability to capture true moments. Jonny is also the official photographer for Charmed Life Entertainment. See the photography page for some more samples of his work.
